Dear Mr. Strickland, I am writing to you to request that you allow me to pay my rent late this month. The reason is that I am having a few financial problems at the moment. Last month, I was made redundant from my job due to the fact that the company I work for is closing down. Because I have not worked at the company for long, I have not received a redundancy payment, therefore leaving me short of money this month. I can assure you that I will be able to pay the rent on the 15th of next month. I have now found another job, and they have kindly agreed to give me an advance on my wages, but they are unable to arrange this until next week. I can assure you that I will be able to continue to pay rent at the full rate and on time in the future. As I mentioned, I have a new job and this is on a long-term contract, meaning that I will have a secure and timely income. I may also set up a direct debit so the payment goes to your automatically each month. I hope this will be acceptable to you, but please contact me if it is a problem. Yours sincerely, John Streetham. |

Dear Sir Madam, I am writing to you as I recently received a letter from you informing me that the insurance premium for my car is going to increase from next month. As you will be aware if you check my records, I have held my insurance with your company for nearly seven years now. During this time, I have never had an accident and never had any reason to make a claim on my insurance. I understand that at times prices need to be increased. However, this increase you are suggesting will result in a 20% increase in the amount I pay each month, a rate I feel is too much. I would therefore like you to write back to me and explain why such an increase has been proposed. If you are unable to justify it to my satisfaction, then I am afraid that I will have no other option but to move my insurance to another company. I look forward to hearing from you, Yours faithfully, |

Dear Sir or Madam, As an avid fan of theatre, I regularly watch the newest plays at your theatre. Unfortunately, my last visit was not very enjoyable, which is why I write. I recently went to the matinee show of The Garage Rockstar - specifically last Saturday, May 15. However, inside, a young couple were occupying my seats because of an apparent double-booking error. Before I could speak to the couple, the usher directed me to the front since the play was about to begin. My girlfriend and I complied as the seats seemed to be in a better part of the theatre. Unfortunately, we were wrong since the some side lighting was aimed our way, making it difficult to see properly and focus on the play. With today's technology, double-booking errors should not occur. I suggest you review your system to determine what went wrong before it happens again. Ushers should also be instructed on what to do on such occasions. Had I been given options, I might have selected better seats than the ones given. Furthermore, the lighting should be set up correctly, not directed towards the audience, as this can be blinding and distracting. Better yet, perhaps your building needs an upgrade to more modern lighting systems to the benefit of all. I hope these problems will be addressed a soon as possible so that theatre enthusiasts can continue to enjoy the shows at your venue. Sincerely, Jeremy Cruise |

Dear Angela, I'm so happy to know that you and Robert are finally engaged. It feels like just yesterday when you were asking me for advice about whether he was the one meant for you. I can't wait to see you in your wedding dress! I know you're currently busy preparing for your engagement party, and of course, starting your wedding preparations, so forgive me in advance for adding to the stress. Unfortunately, I can't make it to your engagement party because it coincides with my comprehensive exams for my master's. I tried rescheduling, but my dean says there are no other available dates this semester. But don't worry about your wedding day! I have enough accumulated leave at work for that. In the meantime, I'll be sending my engagement gift via courier. It's the beautiful scarf we saw in Milan, the one we saw after talking about you and Robert's compatibility! My friend had a recent business trip there, so I asked him to purchase it. I'm telling you now so that you can use it at the party. Think of it as an assurance of a match made in heaven! That's all for now. Post pictures of everything! Love, Lily |

Dear Sir or Madam, I was a recent passenger of your train. Unfortunately, upon disembarking, I accidentally left important documents behind, which is why I write. Last Friday, June 10, I was a passenger of your 3 pm train from Charlesville to Beartown. I was seated in the third row of the second carriage. What I left behind on my seat was a black, hard-plastic case that contained a thesis that I was editing and my university students' essays. I realized the case was not with me when I got home, so I immediately phoned your station. I asked if they could relay an urgent message to any employees onboard about the documents. However, the lady on the line, Pamela, said she had no direct access to personnel on the train. The best she could do was create a customer complaint ticket, adding that someone would get back to me by Monday. Well, now it is Tuesday, and no one has contacted me yet, so I would like to hear some news about my documents. Also, I strongly suggest that procedures be drawn up so that train employees can quickly check for forgotten items once reported. I look forward to your immediate response. Sincerely, Rex Spectre |

Dear Sir or Madam, I live at 25 Crescent Avenue, across the street from the main entrance to Deer Park where the students of your school often have sports practice and matches. I'm writing to make you aware of an issue that I have noticed with the last few school groups that have visited. Having lived by this park for the past 10 years, I've so enjoyed having access to safe, clean natural environments where my children can play, and our dogs can stretch their legs. The preservation of green spaces around the city is so important, and I'm glad to see groups of children enjoying the space as your students do. Unfortunately, I have noticed that for the past few weeks, after the school buses leave at the end of the matches, there is a large amount of litter left lying around the sports fields. This includes the packaging from their prepacked meals, as well as water bottles, and sweets wrappers. I would like to see the children continue to use the grounds, so perhaps the school could put a few large bins in around the sports fields, in addition to the ones the park has provided, as these don't seem to be large enough for the number of students. I look forward to seeing the school take action that allows the continued use of the grounds for their students, as well as the preservation of our beautiful green spaces. Kind regards, Mary Robbins |

Dear Mr. Reynolds, I am writing to formally request a leave of absence from work for a period of six weeks, starting from November 15, 2023. The reason for this leave is a deeply personal matter. My close family member, my mother, has been diagnosed with a severe medical condition, and her treatment and recovery will require my full attention and presence during this critical time. During my absence, I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition for the team. To stay updated, I will check my work email regularly and be available for critical matters. I also propose delegating my ongoing tasks to a capable colleague or team member, and I am more than willing to work closely with them to provide necessary guidance and training. Not only this, I will also prepare detailed documentation of my current projects and responsibilities for easy reference. To address my responsibilities during my leave, I suggest that Ms. Sarah Mitchell, who has a good understanding of our current projects, be appointed as the point person in my absence. I would be happy to facilitate this transition by sharing my knowledge with her before my leave begins. Thank you for considering my request. I will be available to discuss further details and make any necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth transition. Sincerely, Emma Walker |

Dear Sarah, I hope this letter finds you in great spirits. I've been eagerly counting down the days until our upcoming holiday and it's hard to express how much I've been looking forward to it. The thought of sunny days, endless laughter, and exploring new places with you has kept me excited and motivated for weeks. Unfortunately, life has thrown a bit of a curveball, and I need to change our plans. My work situation has become unexpectedly hectic, and I won't be able to take time off during the dates we originally planned for our holiday. I can't tell you how disappointed I am about this because I was so looking forward to our adventure. However, I'm determined not to let this setback dampen our plans entirely. How about we consider rescheduling our trip for a later date that works for both of us? I've already checked my work schedule for the next couple of months, and I'm more flexible around December. I understand if you're disappointed, and I am truly sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but I'm hoping we can still make this holiday happen. Please let me know what you think and if these new dates work for you. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon. Warmest wishes, Jane |

Hey Jenny, I was so glad to get your letter, and I totally get the dilemma you're facing about whether to go to college or start working. Let me share my thoughts with you. First, I have a hunch that college might not be your thing. You've always been more of a hands-on, practical learner, and I can't see you sitting in lectures and poring over textbooks for years. Though college can be a fantastic experience, it's not for everyone, and it's crucial to follow your own path. Getting a job now could be a great idea for you as it offers a chance to gain real-world experience, build skills, and figure out what you're passionate about. Plus, you'll be earning money and gaining independence, which is liberating. Given your friendly and outgoing personality, I think customer service jobs like working in a cafe, as a sales associate, or even in event planning could be a great start. These roles would let you interact with people and learn valuable communication skills while earning a paycheck. Ultimately, the choice is yours, Jenny, and you should follow your gut. Just remember, there's no one-size-fits-all answer, and the important thing is finding what makes you happy and fulfilled. Catch up soon! Warm regards, |
