Smolensk Branch of Moscow Power Engineering Institute was founded 22nd of July 1961, but the first classes started at the 1st of October. Institute occupies two buildings stated if Readovka district. To enter in Institute you must provide your USE results in physics, mathematics and Russian language. There are a lot of specialties in Institute, such as Computer science and engineering, Applied Informatics in Economics, Industrial electronics etc. To get a bachelor's degree, you must study for 4 years and two years more to get a master's degree. Students study a variety of subjects. Such as higher mathematics, programming, informatics, physics, foreign language, and history. Students take the exam twice a year (January and July). If the student passed the exam successfully he or she receives a scholarship. Students have a vacation twice a year. Classes start at 8:30 AM and end at 3:30 PM Students usually have 3 or 4 classes per day, 5 times a week. There are a large library and two reading rooms, equipped with internet, where students can prepare for classes. There is also a large canteen and a buffet, where students can have a lunch during lunch break. In addition, there are 3 hostels located near the Institute, where 2 or 3 students live together in one room. Students have the opportunity to join in interest clubs, such as football, volleyball, chess, dancing, vocals. After graduation, the student receives a diploma of MPEI and can get a good job in the specialty |
